THE LIFE OF BRIAN
Brian von Dedenroth (Dee-den-roth) is a Television Host, Brand Spokesperson, Public Speaker, and Voice Over Artist who has appeared nationwide on PBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and Oxygen. He has spoken and MC'd countless events and has narrated lifestyle and eLearning programs, website tutorials, commercials, and audiobooks.
Von Dedenroth received Bachelors degrees in Biology and Psychology from UC San Diego and an MBA from San Diego State. Then he was lured in search of dot com riches from the silica beaches of San Diego to the silicon chips of the San Francisco Bay Area. There he worked for IBM and Internet advertising firm DoubleClick with clients such as Intel, Disney, and others in the US, Latin America, Spain,Italy, and France.
After dot bomb glitches and insufficient riches, Brian began working in TV news for KRON in San Francisco, hosting and writing food and lifestyle programs for Amtrak, The Winemakers on PBS, and PR firm Miller-Weiner Communications. Brian's worked with toy, tech, and food/beverage companies including: General Mills, Mattel, The Boston Beer Company, Coca-Cola, Beringer, Ketchum, Inter Rhône, and DeVries Public Relations.
Brian's TV experience, combined with self-taught cooking, landed him as a semi-finalist from 10,000 applicants for his own cooking show on The Next Food Network Star. Missed it by a teaspoon. Back to the cutting board, he was selected as a finalist for season 2 of The Taste on ABC. Although he didn't win it all, he's never far from the kitchen on or off camera.
Von Dedenroth has been a member of Toastmasters International and The National Speakers Association. He has spoken for Monster.com dispensing college preparation and survival advice to thousands of high school kids and for The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine on Health and Nutrition. Brian has also taught cooking and wine classes for Santa Barbara City College and private clients.
Von Dedenroth created the food and wine blog The Omnivorous Vegetarian highlighting the world's best and not so best eats. Brian combines his varied social and traditional media experience to coach others how to handle the media before the media handles them.
